Teatro Blanquita Revival

I developed an adaptive reuse proposal for Teatro Blanquita in Mexico City, reimagining the once vibrant theater as a community centered cultural anchor that preserves memory while enabling new creation. Grounded in research on the evolution of Mexican performance ranging from pre-colonial ritual to revolutionary identity-building and feminist/queer resistance, I designed a cardinally aligned spatial framework that disrupts the existing grid and orchestrates addition and subtraction over time. It is the home for what is preserved, removed, and introduced through time. The result is a living archive and open canvas for all communities to continually shape the site's evolving artistic identity.
