Falda Cielo

Tehuana dress centers the strength and visibility of women from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, who became admired for their bold color choices and the care put into their garments. Their wide skirts (enaguas) and embroidered textiles carry stories of daily life, nature, and belief, and have become a symbol of indigenous pride and resistance. This design translates that presence into form, using the skirt's volume, movement, and logic as the pavilion's primary architectural expression. The skirts take different forms, using structural boning holding their shape. Then they are attached to a cable system forming their pattern in the sky.
